Student excellence in school is highly dependent on the educator in the room, the way the educator sees the student, creates safety and uses effective and engaging learning strategies.
The pandemic has proven the importance of educators as essential workers in society, and schools with important core functions in society.
I will take it further to the point of saying that educators are futurists. We need a mind shift on the role of the educator in the room.
There is a challenge though: educators’ well-being is crucial and must be prioritized. A happy and healthy educator will show up with authenticity, warmth, ease and passion in the classroom. In Sweden there was already before the pandemic a lack of 23,000 educators in the whole country.
